I’ve been an Artist all my Life and I love everything that comes along with a session of painting. After I create a painting I get a sense of accomplishment that is extremely uplifting. It’s also a form of meditation for me. I call it “meditation in action”. I’ve been dreaming about sharing my gift with others for a very long time.
The thought of facilitating Paint Night Parties and events started to take shape in my mind almost 5 years now! It’s hard to explain why this dream is just coming a reality. Five years ago when I created my Facebook group “The Women of Facebook”, it was actually something I wanted to introduce at that time…but I got sidetracked. It ok thought beacuse what is important is that it is coming to reality NOW!
The idea for Pause and Paint was born out of preparing the biggest solo exhibit of my life. As I was inviting people to come to my exhibit, I started to have the visions of sharing the passion and joy of painting with others.
Many people have shared with me that they can’t even draw a stick figure so how could they paint?. Well, all I can say to that is painting as nothing to do with drawing, It’s an entirely different experience. You just have to try it to find out!
When we walked into The Augusta Curtis Cultural Center to hang my Artwork the day of my exhibit, all I could think about, as I placed my paintings on the walls of the beautiful glass floors room, was how much fun to see this place animated with laughers and a bunch a people having fun and unleashing their creativity!
What started as a vision is becoming to reality!
